Welcome to the University of North Texas!
Can you believe that the first couple of weeks of CAW-llege are already over?! WOW. I remember my first week like it was yesterday and it sort of was yesterday. Meeting my RA, getting to know the people in my residence hall, trying the different cafeteria’s, scooping out where my classes were and waiting in that long line in the book store, that all sounds familiar right?
The first week after you move in, most commonly referred to as First Flight Week, is jam packed with some fun events that had TONS of FREE giveaways. I hope you were able to get some free things! Then the doors to our academic success opened with the beginning of classes on Wednesday! How was your first day of class? Mine was good, but maybe you had a few hiccups? That’s okay.
As you get more familiar with the campus, you’ll find yourself to be something of a pro when it comes to getting around campus, and you might start noticing the flyers promoting different clubs and organizations. Take this as an opportunity to get more Caw-nected to the university!
Oh, I’m sorry I did not introduce myself. My name is Precious Femi-Ogunyemi and I was an orientation leader this summer. My O-L photo
How I usually looked like.
As you venture on this journey of your first year, I want to help guide you through some of the up’s and down’s of being a first year student here at UNT. If you have any questions or CAW-ments, about anything, feel free to contact me! Shoot me an email at precious.femi-ogunyemi@unt.edu.
